"Becoming european citizens" is an educational project which addresses students of secondary schools. In line with our ongoing project "Be ready 4 EU", the aim is to create in young people a greater sense of belonging to the European Union, promoting the understanding of its nature and its functioning. It facilitates the knowledge of the current EU debates and favour the awareness of mobility opportunities offered by the European Commission Erasmus+ programme.
The proposed route, divided into 6 training meetings held by the volunteers of Europe HOpes, is well connected to the subjects History, Geography, Citizenship and Constitution, Philosophy, English (and other languages) but also Motor Education, Computer Science, and others, for its capacity to intercept values and interdisciplinary information disseminated internationally.
The project is inspired by the European Commission document "Co-Creating European Union Citizenship "in which the significance of national citizenship is related to the main elements of European citizenship.
